Brighton Cougars was founded in 1989 and is celebrating its 25th season this year. The Cougars are a not-for-profit community sports club run entirely by volunteers based at Dorothy Stringer gym. We currently have just over 200 members of which approximately 150 are juniors.
Our best season ever...
Last year was one of our most successful seasons ever, with our Men winning the Sussex Cup competition, our U11 boys winning the Sussex Playoff Final and finally, and by no means least, our Women’s Team winning the Sussex Plate Finals. In addition three other teams also reached the Basketball Sussex Play-Off Finals. Building upon this success, in addition to the five local league teams this season (U11s, U12s, U13s, U14s and Women’s), we also have three junior National League teams: U14s Girls and U16 and U18 boys teams in conjunction with BHASVIC college. This year we have entered our Men’s team into National League competition returning senior basketball at this level back to Brighton.
If you're interested in joining the club or would simply like more information click here to apply now and one of our members will get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively, come along to any one of our scheduled training sessions and chat to one of the coaches.
